Movers in Mirdif

A family that has been in a Mirdif villa for eight years is not moving three bedrooms. They are moving three bedrooms, a majlis, a store room, a garage, a roof terrace and whatever the maid's room absorbed. We count all of it at survey and quote the vehicle and crew against the real number.

Where there is more than the new home can take, storage bridges the gap. Items are inventoried and wrapped, held for as long as you need, and delivered back when you have space.

Compound villas share a single access lane, often with parked cars on both sides. A full-size truck cannot always turn in it. We check the lane at survey and, where needed, work from a smaller vehicle or shuttle from the compound entrance.

Neighbours matter in a compound. We keep the lane passable, keep the noise down and take every piece of packaging away with us.

Most of Mirdif has no master developer's office of the kind Emaar or Nakheel run. If you rent an independent villa from a private owner, there is usually no move permit to apply for: the paperwork is the Ejari registration, the landlord's handover and the DEWA transfer. That frees the day from permitted windows, so villa moves here can start early.

The gated sub-communities are different. Shorooq, 668 two- to four-bedroom villas on Algeria Street by Mushrif Park, and Ghoroob's four-storey apartment blocks are run by Dubai Holding Asset Management, formerly Dubai Asset Management. Residents apply for a move-in or move-out permit in the Dubai AM Life app at least 48 hours ahead; for a move-out, the permit follows a move-out appointment with the property management team and is shown to community security before anything leaves. Uptown Mirdif, Union Properties' gated community of more than 2,000 villas and flats, and Mirdif Hills, Dubai Investments' freehold apartments across Janayen, Nasayem, Al Multaqa and Asayel Avenues, handle moves through their own management offices. Ask for the building's move pack as soon as your date is fixed.

Mirdif's apartments are mostly low- and mid-rise, from studios to three-bedroom flats, with lifts that are smaller than in the coastal towers. Tall wardrobes and large sofas often have to come apart to fit, which we check against the lift at survey rather than at the door. A booked lift slot and a protected lobby are standard, and a one- or two-bedroom flat is a one-day move.

Uptown Mirdif's villas, three to five bedrooms with gardens and separate maid's rooms, are planned like the rest of Mirdif's family homes: surveyed room by room, including the store room and garage, and usually moved over two days.
