Victory Heights is 961 villas and townhouses in eight small villages around the Els Club golf course. Its gates work from a list, so the vehicle and crew are registered with security before the day, and the truck parks on the village loop rather than in front of every house.

A four-bedroom villa normally needs a ten-tonne truck and a crew of six. With full packing, or a large garden and store room, two days is the calmer plan: pack on day one, load and place on day two.

The community's roads carry extra traffic on match and event nights at the stadium and cricket ground, and the main routes in from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road are busy in the late afternoon. We check the fixture list when the date is set and load in the morning.
