Old towers, small lifts
A small lift means more trips, and more trips means a bigger crew rather than a longer day. We size it so the lift never idles, and we protect the interior before the first item goes in.
Where a piece will not fit the lift, it comes apart in the apartment and is rebuilt at the other end.
Loading on a restricted street
Kerbside space on the Corniche is limited and timed. We agree the loading position with the building, keep the vehicle inside its window and shuttle from a permitted point where standing is not allowed.
Because the quote is fixed, a slow bay is our cost and not an addition to your bill.
Tawtheeq first, then the tower
The Corniche has no master developer issuing permits. What you need comes in a fixed order: the new tenancy registered on Tawtheeq through TAMM, then the building management's move-in approval, then the service lift booking. Electricity and water usually follow the Tawtheeq registration through TAQA's distribution company without a separate move application.
Towers here range from older blocks with one small service lift to newer ones such as Nation Towers near the southern end and Etihad Towers at the Al Bateen end. Truck hours on the island
Abu Dhabi restricts heavy vehicles at peak times: Monday to Thursday from 06:30 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 19:00, with a midday window on Fridays as well. A Corniche move is planned to load and leave between those windows, which in practice means arriving after the morning ban lifts and finishing the loading before mid-afternoon.
Moves to or from Dubai are timed the same way at the other end, and the permanent truck bans on Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Road and Al Raha Beach Road decide the route out of the city.
Basements, podiums and short kerbs
Many Corniche towers park residents in basements or podium levels, and where the moving vehicle fits the ramp we load there. Where it does not, we load from a point the building agrees and shuttle, because standing on the Corniche itself is not allowed for long.
A two-bedroom apartment normally needs a seven-tonne truck and three movers, plus one more where the lift is small and furniture has to come apart.
