The journey is the simple part
It is roughly 140 kilometres on the E11, typically an hour and a half to two hours outside peak periods. Tolls, fuel and travel time should already be inside any fixed quote you accept.
What matters is departure time. Loading early in Dubai means the vehicle is on the road before volume builds, and it means unloading in Abu Dhabi happens well inside the destination building's permitted window rather than against its edge.
Abu Dhabi buildings are more formal
In Dubai, the typical requirement is a moving NOC and a lift booking. In Abu Dhabi, expect that plus advance registration of the crew and the vehicle with building security, often two to five working days ahead.
Permitted hours also tend to be narrower, and buildings are less likely to extend a window on the day. Al Reem Island, Saadiyat and Yas Island each have their own community layer of access rules on top of the building's own.

What it costs, and why
Price on this corridor is still driven by volume, access and packing, exactly as it is inside Dubai. The route adds fuel, tolls and travel time, but that is a modest part of a household move.
The bigger cost variable is whether the job stays inside one day. An early start and a correctly sized vehicle usually keep it to one. A late start, a small vehicle needing two runs, or a destination that only permits afternoon access can turn it into two days, and two days costs meaningfully more.
Practical planning points
Line up your utilities before the day: close the DEWA account and open an Abu Dhabi Distribution Company connection so the new home has power and water when you arrive.
If your Dubai handover and Abu Dhabi move-in do not align, storage is cheaper and calmer than paying overlapping rent. We hold everything inventoried and deliver on the first day access is permitted.
Finally, think about what should not make the trip. Moving furniture you do not want to Abu Dhabi costs the same as moving furniture you do.
