The worst week of every month is the last one
Dubai tenancies overwhelmingly start and end at the turn of the month, so the last three days and the first two of any month are the busiest window in the industry. Service lifts book out, crews are stretched, and the good companies are simply unavailable.
If you have any flexibility at all, moving mid-month is the single highest-value decision you can make. Availability is better, lifts are free, and crews are not on their fourth job of the week.
- Busiest: the 28th to the 2nd of any month
- Calmest: roughly the 8th to the 20th
- Fridays and Saturdays fill first in any week
- Book three to four weeks ahead for a month-end date
Summer: cheaper, emptier, harder
June through September is low season for a reason. Daytime temperatures make loading genuinely difficult, buildings restrict midday working, and crews need more breaks and more water, which means more time on site.
It is also when a lot of families leave, so availability is better and prices soften. If you move in summer, move early: start at seven, be loaded before eleven, and place in the afternoon when both properties are air-conditioned.
The school calendar moves everything
Late June to early September and the weeks around the winter break are when families relocate, and family moves are the large ones. Villa crews are committed further ahead in those windows than at any other time.
If you are moving a villa around a school term change, four to six weeks of notice is realistic. Two weeks is optimistic.
Ramadan and the days around Eid
Working hours shorten during Ramadan and many buildings restrict moves further. Crews work, but the day is shorter and the scheduling is tighter, so a move that would take one long day may need two.
The days immediately around Eid are effectively unavailable. Plan either side of them rather than through them.
A simple rule
If you can choose: a Tuesday or Wednesday in the second week of the month, starting early, outside the school-change windows. That is the cheapest, calmest move available in this city.
If you cannot choose, book earlier than feels necessary. Availability, not price, is what runs out first in Dubai.
